Aussie Indoor Sports is an established commercial provider of 5-a-side amateur indoor soccer (futsal) competitions, operating four leagues in inner Melbourne; Prahran, Footscray, Elwood and Mount Waverley. Over 150 teams, equating to 1200 individual players are currently registered in Aussie Indoor Sports’ leagues, with matches held five evenings per week.
The company was established in early 2006, as Australian soccer rode a wave of popularity linked to the national team’s good performance at the 2006 World Cup. The company has quickly established a strong presence in the Melbourne soccer community, as evidenced by the popularity of its four soccer leagues in Prahran, Footscray, Elwood and Mount Waverley.
•    Footscray League : the company’s initial entry into the indoor soccer market and has quickly established a reputation as one of Melbourne’s best-run competitions. Using the facilities of Footscray City College, the competition boasts over 70 teams with over 560 registered players. Four divisions are held at Footscray with mixed matches held on Monday nights and men’s leagues operating on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings.
•    Elwood League : in 2007, the company capitalized on its success in Footscray by opening a new league using the facilities of Elwood College. The Elwood League has over 30 teams and over 320 registered players competing in two men’s divisions. Matches are held on Monday and Wednesday evenings.
•    Prahran League : in 2008, the company started a new league using the facilities at the Orrong Romanis Recreation Centre. The Prahran League has also proven to be popular with indoor soccer players, with 30 teams and over 300 registered players currently competing in mixed and men’s leagues held on Sunday evenings over two courts.
•    Mt Waverley League : in 2009, Aussie Indoor Sports started a new league using the facilities of Mt Waverley Secondary College. The Mt Waverley league has 30 teams and 210 registered players. Two divisions are held at Mt Waverley with men’s matches held on Monday nights and a mixed leagues operating on Thursday evenings.

2) Goals and Objectives of Aussie Indoor Sports
Aussie Indoor Sports corporate motto is ‘where fitness meets fun’. This reflects the company’s commitment to offering the proven product of an indoor soccer competition in a friendly environment. The aim is to provide teams with an opportunity to test themselves against other teams, thus improving their fitness and skills, and a chance to catch up with friends in a relaxed environment.

  1. Futsal is such a fun sport to play with a couple of mates, banding together to take on local challenges. Every year I get my mates to sign up and play in a local comp. You guys really seem to know your soccer and especially futsal. Recently i’v been posting my team up on know your soccer.info I’ll make sure to let them know the great stuff that your doing for soccer and futsal australia alike.
